Heather Hartnett is a Co-Founding Partner of Human Ventures. She comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and started her first company when she was 12 years old. She was buying a portfolio of domain names in the early 90’s building business plans around each one. She’s spent her career at the intersection of company building, investing and philanthropy.

Heather now leads the core Human team and supports each portfolio founder through the beginning stages of company creation. She was recently featured in The Information as “The new breed of VC” and Business Insidercalled her “the first female-led startup studio, bringing a fresh new perspective to the tech scene.”

She serves on the leadership council for tech:nyc and is a mentor to both the NYC MIT Startup Studio and 1776 Accelerator. She is a contributor to Forbes, where she uncovers impactful startups, investors, and founders of our time.

Prior to Human Ventures, Heather incubated companies within City Light Capital—an impact investment fund that invests in companies generating measurable social good in addition to financial returns.
