Maha Ibrahim is a General Partner at Canaan Partners. She has been involved in the venture capital and technology industries for over 15 years, developing a stellar reputation for supporting entrepreneurs through all phases of the start-up cycle. She also mentors women and girls in entrepreneurship.
With a focus on innovative cloud and digital media companies, Maha's current boards include Kabam, an innovator in the gaming industry. Plus, she keeps current with couture as a board member for TheRealReal, the world's largest luxury marketplace, and Cuyana, an e-commerce brand that creates luxury apparel and accessory collections with materials sourced from around the world. She is also on the boards of Twenty20, the definitive community to showcase, discover, sell, and buy the best in mobile photography, and UNIFI software, which addresses data acquisition and integration, and Komprise which creates a sustainable approach to data management.
Maha led Canaan's investments in Metacloud (acquired by Cisco), provider of scalable proprietary cloud solutions; Virsto (acquired by VMware), the creator of the first virtual storage architecture; as well as XDN (acquired by Fortinet), a provider of a cloud-based management solution for disparate content delivery resources. She also orchestrated our investment in SenSage (acquired by KEYW Corporation), a provider of log management and security information management systems; Tacit Networks, a provider of WAN Optimization technology, (acquired by PKTR), and Mobilitec, a platform for mobile content services (acquired by Alcatel-Lucent).
Maha holds a B.A. in Economics, an M.A. in Sociology from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT.
