Mary Kay James
Mary Kay James has been named vice president and general manager of Tyson New Venture in 2016. She invests in companies developing breakthrough technologies, business models and products to sustainably feed a population set to eclipse nine billion people by mid-century. She is an expert in corporate venture investing with a focus on agriculture and nutrition & health.
She works closely with the DuPont Pioneer business looking for new opportunities in precision agriculture, seed trait enhancement, and genetic transformation.
Her responsibilities also span the nutrition & health sector where she proactively identifies strategic opportunities in food, beverage, and supplements that address digestive, metabolic and cardiovascular health, as well as specialty food protection ingredients. Mary Kay is very active in the venture capital community and is currently the chairperson of the National Venture Capital Association's (NVCA) Corporate Ventures Group (CVG).
