Nimi Katragadda, a young venture capitalist, has joined New York's growing group of women in top tech investing roles. This time it's early stage fund BoxGroup that's named its first female partner, tapping principal Nimi Katragadda for the role.
Katragadda's elevation to partner is the first personnel change at BoxGroup since founders David Tisch and Adam Rothenberg hired her and principal Greg Rosen in 2015. In that time, Katragadda pushed the firm more into healthcare and financial tech startups, leading investments in companies including pharmacy benefits partner SmithRx, drug testing service Notable Labs, fertility test maker Modern Fertility and Guideline, a new take on a 401(k) plan.
A former banking analyst and Google product marketer, Katragadda joined BoxGroup from Harvard Business School, where she invested in student startups through the Rough Draft Ventures program. She made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in venture capital in 2017.
